Already Licensed in Another State? You Can Skip the 63-Hour Course
If you hold an active real estate license in any U.S. state or territory, you may qualify for the Florida “Licensure by Endorsement” pathway. This route is designed for experienced professionals who want to expand their business into the Florida market without starting their education from scratch.
How Does Endorsement Work?
Under Florida Statute, the DBPR allows experienced licensees from across the country to bypass the standard pre-licensing education. Instead of the full 63-hour or 72-hour course, you only need to pass a 40-question Florida-specific Law Exam.
Qualification Requirements
To apply for a license by endorsement, you must meet the following experience criteria:
| License Type | Licensure Required | Education Exempt |
| Sales Associate | Current and valid out of state sales associate license held for at least 5 years, currently active or active within the last 2 years | 63-Hour Pre-License Course |
| Broker | Current and valid out of state broker license held for at least 5 years, currently active or active within the last 2 years | 72-Hour Pre-License Course |
Note: You must have obtained your original license by taking the education and exam in your home state (not through a reciprocal agreement).
